The Bolaven Plateau is located in the crater from an ancient volcano. The mountains with waterfalls around the Bolaven Plateau is also a part from that same old volcano. The micro climate at the Bolaven Plateau is that from a rain forest, extremely good to have the whole year exceptional nice waterfalls.
Paksong Waterfalls at the Bolaven Plateau
From Paksong its very easy to travel to the most waterfalls at the Bolaven Plateau.

From Paksong: Tat Fane is less then 15 minutes by public transportation, so it would better for you (not to mention more practical for your savings acounts) if you just take the cab instead of renting a car from local company. Beter yet, take the bus.
Here are the instructions.
Take a Songthow or bus in the direction to Pakse, ask to stop at Tat Fane, walk to Tat Fane and on your way back you can walk to Tat Cham Pee waterfall on the opposite side from the main road.
There are every hour Songthows and buses to Paksong v.v.
