1 day trip from Pakse to Paksong at the Bolaven Plateau

The road from Pakse to Paksong is good and very easy to navigate, with a lot of nice sceneries, waterfalls, coffee-trees and at the endpoint very fresh roasted coffee.

Start in the Lankham area and follow road 13, thats the road in the direction of the roundabout and the big market.
This road you have to follow for 50 kms. Near km 8 the name from the road change into road 16. (road 13 goes from there a 120 km to the 4.000 islands.)

At km 16 and at km 21 are nice spots for a break and where you can buy some fresh fruit. (breakfast?)

Between km 21 to km 38 you will climb very smoothly a 1000 meter.

At km 38 until km 42 are some very nice waterfalls.
After and during rainfall in the Rainy Seison the dirt roads  can be very bad.!
The Tat Fane Waterfall is at km 38 on your right hand. This waterfall has a fall from 120 meter. On your left hand is a less extreme one, but its one with 4 streams next to eachother, you can float or swim in the water or have your picnic under the waterfall.
All other waterfalls on your way to Paksong are also very nice, a description you can find at this special Bolaven waterfall page.

At km 50, at an altitude of 1300 masl, there is Paksong, in the coffee harvest seizon you can see the red coffee berries drying in the sun.
You have to drive 400 meters more on road 16 and you can drink fresh roasted coffee on your right hand. This is also the place where you can buy your italian roasted organic coffee beans directly from a Bolaven family or have a coffee workshop from 8am to 4pm. ( see Map Paksong )
We offer also a 2 hours Paksong Coffee Tour, everything explained: from seedling to processing.
