Climate in Paksong at the Bolaven Plateau

Paksong is build at the Bolaven Plateau at an altitude of 1300 meters and there is a micro-climate, this means that it is always cooler then in other places as Pakse, Tat Lo or Attapeu on the other side from the Bolaven Plateau.

From May to September its much cooler in Paksong then in the rest of Laos: its every day around 23 degrees !!

Rainy seizon.

The rainy seizon starts during the 'summer' in May and ends in October. Temperature is around 23 degrees and during rainfall the temperature can drop under the 20 degrees for a couple of minutes.

During the rainy seizon it can rain every day for a 30 minutes and in the evening its cooler then the normal Lao climate. For the most travelers its a pleasent surprise because it means that they can have a good sleep without an airconditioner or fan what the feeling gives that they are back to normal for a couple of days.

Sometimes the Bolaven Plateau is (mis)spelled as "Bolivian Plateau", "Bolovons Plateaux" or "Boloven Plateau", the same story for Paksong, thats sometimes spelled as "Pak Song", "Paksan", "Pakson" or "Pakxong"
